Episode 7 of Boyfriend on Demand begins back at work with Kyeong-nam watching as Mi-rae is very clearly distracted. However, this is before the beach incident and everything we've witnessed up to this point is seen from Kyeong-nam's perspective.

Their timings have been a series of coincidences that have pushed them closer together, from elevator rides to Secret Santa gifts. However, the day in episode 1 where the chocolate-mouthed kid dirtied Mi-rae's jacket is when Kyeong-nam nervously tried to engage but knows he tried a bit too hard.

Kyeong-nam tried different tactics over the weeks, including a more standoffish attitude, but he was always pulled back to her, like the incident on the retreat with the bottle caps.

This catches us up to the moment we left off last episode. The pair walk together back to their hotel rooms, but Kyeong-nam is unintentionally blunt with his questions and answers. The reason for this, as we soon see, is that Kyeong-nam overheard Song and Mi-rae discuss how the latter doesn't have a boyfriend. But to him, she's admitted she does.

After the big award show, the morning hangover is not pretty for Song. While she ropes Mi-rae into going to the airport with her, the rest of the team hang out at the beach. Kyeong-nam struggles to disguise his disappointment over this turn of events though.

As for Mi-rae, she makes it back home and indulges in more fantasies and dates with Yeong-il. She knows that the next chapter of their journey together is all up to her. However, she's struggling to discern the difference between Yeong-il and Kyeong-nam, with both men blurring together in her mind.

Mi-rae decides to start avoiding Kyeong-nam altogether after a rather awkward encounter at work. It doesn't last long, and Mi-rae decides she's going to start being confident in front of him… and then walks right into a glass window. It causes a big bump on her head and as she races out of work, Kyeong-nam realizes she's left behind her keyring and he picks it up.

Mi-rae tries to hide the huge bump on her head by getting bangs but Kyeong-nam and other people can tell right away. Song is late to upload her episode (thanks in part to still being mortified over the So-yeong incident) and it's freezing cold in the office too. When the heaters inevitably turn off, Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae sit together by a heater.

After a nice night together, there's further drama when Hwany overtakes Song in the webtoon rankings. After the Awards, it's only natural that the popularity has swung to him but Song is not taking it well. The Director wants Mi-rae to formulate a plan to make sure the coin sales don't fall further for their star performer.

Song's contract is actually coming to an end soon and unless they turn things around, the company may not be able to keep her on. The next season could well be the last, and given Song has never dropped in rankings before, it's rattled him.

Meanwhile, Song is completely defeatist and thinks her entire life is over. Mi-rae gives a pep-talk and they head out for dinner. Only, it's the same place as Hwany and Kyeong-nam. It's awkward but soon turns to hilarity when Song invites So-yeong along. Hwany does what he can to try and impress her.

The night goes well from there, and Kyeong-nam and Mi-rae talk outside. He wants them to be honest with each other and when Mi-rae admits she's single, Kyeong-nam takes a bold step and tells her he wants to show her how much he cares.

The Episode Review

Boyfriend on Demand returns with another solid episode, this time honing in on Kyeong-nam's perspective and growing feelings for Mi-rae. Seeing his perspective all this time has worked well to keep things interesting, and there's been some good moments in this episode too.

Seeing Mi-rae bump into that glass window was unintentionally hilarious, while Kyeong-nam's little gestures to help Mi-rae have only gotten stronger as the episode progresses.

Interestingly, we've seen less of the virtual world this time and more of the real one, and it seems we're gearing up for a more conventional slice of romantic K-drama action for the final chapters of this drama.
