Boyfriend on Demand is the latest technologically-charged romance on Netflix, sporting some decent characterisation, lots of humour and romantic indulgences across its 10 episodes. If you've been following this one, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here's what we know:
What is Boyfriend on Demand about?
Boyfriend on Demand is the latest romantic K-drama centering on Seo Mi-rae, an independent woman working as a webtoon PD. She is used to living without a boyfriend, because of her busy and exhausting daily life.
However, she's offered the chance to trial a virtual world through a Monthly Issue Boyfriend device that she happens to receive, called Boyfriend on Demand. Inside, she experiences super strong dopamine by having romance with unrealistically perfect men in the virtual world.
This awakens Mi-rae's long-dormant love cells, which could tie into her work rival Park Kyeong-nam, whom she clearly likes. Will Mi-rae find her perfect boyfriend inside or outside the game?

Has Boyfriend on Demand been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Netflix have not renewed Boyfriend on Demand for season 2. Given the ratings over the weeks, it'll be interesting to see if they actually do renew this for a follow-up.
Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. We do know that completion rate of a series is one of the most important criteria here.
With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made.
So far, Boyfriend on Demand has had a pretty good reaction from critics and audiences alike, but the fact this is listed as a Limited Series gives weight that there's unlikely to be a follow-up.
Furthermore, regardless of ratings, it's extremely rare to find Korean dramas renewed for another season. That has changed in recent years but given the sheer wealth of talent in this that are sure to move onto other projects, we predict that Boyfriend on Demand will not be renewed for a second season.

What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, it's rare to find these sort of shows renewed. With the rare exception of ongoing Netflix original shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.) then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.
Having said that though, we have seen Taxi Driver and Tale of the Nine Tailed renewed recently, alongside Alchemy of Souls too. Given how steady the ratings are for this series, could we see this one buck the trend? It seems very unlikely that Boyfriend on Demand will, but you never know! We'll be sure to update this section when we know more.
